Yesterday’s post was all about self-care, those little snatches of mommy me-time when I feel just a bit more autonomous. But today… today was a day of giving, sacrifice, everything for the kids. At the end of the day, I collapsed on my bed for a few moments alone to breathe and cry a little. I didn’t feel like I’d flourished in it at all. Looking back, though…
I didn’t get any recovery after last night’s no-sleep fiasco… but Big E got to ride a pony.
I missed the first several innings of tonight’s World Series game… but Baby G had a magical time as an adorably charming zebra at Pumpkin Palooza.
Today wasn’t for me. But yesterday, I sat in a MOPS meeting and had my soul fed by a beautifully crafted message from a pastor and then by the mamas surrounding me. I enjoyed quality grownup time with other moms and then picked up my happy littles. Yesterday was for me. Today was for them. We flourish in the balance.
